Laurie Woodhouse has over twenty years of experience in executive search. She worked in London with two global search firms, SpencerStuart and Heidrick & Struggles and has partnered with clients to place hundreds of executives in the c-suite.
After returning to the States in 2008, Laurie served as the Executive Director of Talent Management for the Indiana University Foundation for seven years where she placed hundreds of development professionals and delivered a full scale talent management program including professional development, assessment and metrics, succession and workforce planning.
In 2009 Laurie launched Woodhouse and Associates, a successful, growing nonprofit search practice whose focus was serving, higher education, foundations, arts and cultural, and other nonprofit organizations.
She delivers leadership talent that significantly drives the mission and success of the organizations that she serves. Laurie is dedicated to partnering with clients on setting and achieving milestones and retaining a high degree of aftercare to the placement and hiring manager. Confidentiality, discretion and ethical practices are hallmarks of her practice.

Laurie has a M.A in Information Science from the School of Informatics and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Indiana University, Bloomington. She is splits her time between Bloomington, IN and London.

Garrett Nelson has worked with Woodhouse Search since 2018. He is committed to serving nonprofits by finding top talent globally. As an outlier in Executive Search, Garrett has a broad professional background in arts & culture production and management. As the recipient of awards and grants and through serving on and grant committees he has learned first-hand the transformative impact that philanthropy has on individuals and communities.
Garrett studied Fine Arts at Indiana University, an MFA in Contemporary Arts Practice in Berne Switzerland and he is currently working towards a PhD at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba Argentina. He is fluent in German, Swiss German dialect and Spanish.

Rika has managed advancement teams and raised leadership gifts for campaigns with a total raised of over 1.6b. She’s served as Sr. Dir. of Development, Leadership Giving, International Giving, and Corporate and Foundation Relations at Miami University of Ohio, Executive Director for the Greater Cincinnati World Affairs Council, Associate VP for Development at Clarion University, and in senior development roles for Washington & Jefferson College and University of Pittsburgh.
Rika holds an MPA in Nonprofit Management from I.U. Center on Philanthropy and a BA from Valparaiso University. She has served on many nonprofit boards and lectures throughout the US and abroad.
